Small and Medium-scale businesses in Ghana contribute to the growth and development of the Ghanaian economy. It is, therefore, important that these businesses optimise their performance to generate more revenue and boost productivity to help the country develop. Generating and keeping accounting information is an essential way to track and improve a business’ performance. This paper presents a detailed design and implementation of an application which aids Small and Medium-scale Sole Proprietorships (businesses which are wholly owned and usually managed by a single individual) in generating and keeping accounting records and information for the analysis of business performance and, other business and financial purposes.
