Abstract
This paper describes a project that seeks to bridge the communication barrier that comes with student-advisor interaction. Advisors in academic institutions range from career advisors to academic advisors to peer advisors and each play a vital role in the life of a student. Nevertheless, aside from setting up meetings via mail and direct phone calls, there is no system allocated to this essential part of the university experience. That is when the student advising system comes in. It is a portal that grants students and advisors a designated platform to seek and share all kinds of advice. To address proper communication, it will be web-based and would consider the focal points in advising procedure to make the experience appreciable. The project would be a semester long project which would have various milestones to track progress over the specified time. This project would be beneficial in the Ashesi community where student life is a top-most priority.
