Ashesi Aegis: A cyber security awareness and training web application made for Ashesi

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has brought with it integral benefits to society across various sectors. From health care to education, technology has greatly enhanced efficiency and accessibility. However, this innovation also escalates the potency and threat of malicious tools, introducing unprecedented challenges in the realm of cybersecurity. Threats in cyberspace are incredibly varied; among organisations, the most significant risk stems from the humans within them. The factors contributing to this risk range from ignorance due to insufficient education to outright malicious intent. Ashesi Aegis addresses this critical issue with a dedicated web application tailored for Ashesi University. It aims to raise cybersecurity awareness and strengthen digital defences. Through modular learning formats, including video lessons, text breakdowns and interactive quizzes, users build on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
