Abstract
Hand hygiene is one of the most effective ways of preventing infections by reducing the possibility of having disease-causing organisms on the hands. The rise in transmission of infectious diseases such as COVID-19 has led to increased awareness of the importance of hand hygiene and new methods of improving hand hygiene. Automatic hand sanitising machines were developed to combat the spread of disease-causing organisms, but their usefulness relies on them being operational. Most sanitising machines may remain depleted of sanitiser for long periods and dispense unequal amounts of sanitiser during each use. This project aims to implement a sanitising machine that can alert users of the level of the sanitiser and use usage statistics to predict when sanitiser should be kept on hand for refills.
