Shopping at a supermarket is an everyday human activity and with the increasing convenience to access supermarkets, overcrowding and the tired use of trolleys have become a problem. This project integrates many subsystems in the IoT domain to devise a solution to cut down on overcrowding and ease the burden of using shopping trolleys. A smart shopping trolley that automatically follows the user and provides opportunity for automated billing was designed in this project. The smart shopping cart is fitted with the ability to scan products to update an inventory, transmit data to a cashier point-of-sale and track where the shopper moves and directly follow. Added security to the cart ensures the cart is safe from being used by the wrong user and running into objects. The automated shopping trolley will make shopping easier and faster by providing a shopping experience that freesshoppersin supermarketsfrom directly handling trolleys and helps them circumvent the issue of long queues.en_US
