This report determines the feasibility of designing an affordable Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis or Exoskeleton Brace that can provide support to a user with lower limb mobility. This report reviews existing designs of braces and scrutinizes that which makes them expensive but efficient. It looks into alternatives for materials, locations of supports and sizing of the parts of the braces. The report also includes an analysis of the forces at play in the supporting frame of the exoskeleton brace. The report details a meticulous selection process for the subsystems that make an exoskeleton brace work.
