dc.description.abstractThe paper discusses a successful design of an Atmega328p based programmable logic controller (PLC). It describes how to use the PLC to fully automate a semi-automated block-making machine to provide a cheap and efficient alternative for Small Scale Enterprises in the block-making industry in Ghana. It also describes how to interface with a VFD which can be employed to good advantage for energy conservation.
